Checklist - Making a Motor Accident Claim
Depending on the nature of the case, the following documents need to be submitted to the Public Trustee by/through your lawyer:
Out of Court Settlement
- Motor Accident Compensation Settlement (The eService is available at IPTOOnline Portal )
- Traffic Accident Report(s) lodged with the Police;
- Sketch Plan of the scene of accident (if any);
- Medical and Specialised Report(s);
- Coroner's notes of evidence and autopsy report in fatal cases (if any);
- Grant of Probate/Letters of Administration (if any); and
- Case authorities supporting the settlement involving unusual or multiple injuries.
Court Settlement
- Annexure A;
- Judgement or Order of Court; and
- Grant of Probate/Letters of Administration (if any)
Your lawyer will also need to submit his proposal for his legal costs (known as 'Solicitor & Client's Costs') to the Public Trustee for his recommendations in Annexure C.
